On the planet Earth, we are 8 billion people. When I was in my twenties, there were about 5 billion people. Life is becoming way more competitive. And I feel that, my kids.
The question then became: How do you succeed?
But first of all, what does success mean? What does it mean for you?
For me, success was independence. Don’t depend on money, don’t work in an office 9 to 5, five days per week. Very subjective, I know. But now I can say, thinking of my wife, that it has been a successful life. And I still have plenty of years to live with you, hopefully.
So my first suggestion is to think what success means today to you – I know tomorrow it can change – and design your life around it.
My suggestion, but I leave entirely to you, is to not focus too much on objects, because they come and go. You will be happy for a very short amount of time when you buy something new. If you had to spend money, spend that on experiences. I still remember celebrating my fifties with you all skiing together in the Dolomites.
Once you define what success means for you, don’t change your nature. Pretend to become somebody else, but focus on your skills, on what you are good at, and just refine them, refine your craft. Be the best that you can be.
Remember, you are a unique masterpiece.
